What are canapes?

Snacks are an integral part of any festive table. They are served before the main courses to stimulate the appetite.

It is important to remember that snacks should be light, digestible, and not leave heaviness in the stomach. Otherwise, it will not come to the main course. We offer ideas for light and healthy snacks.

Types of canapes

For healthy savory snacks, fish is great. It is better to use boiled, aspic, or stewed fish, decorating it with a slice of lemon or herbs.

You can also serve various marine delicacies rich in vitamins: shrimp, mussels, squid, scallops, octopus, etc. Great snacks are obtained from mushrooms, cheese, and boiled chicken.

As the main ingredients, as well as for decorating any appetizers, vegetables are suitable (some of them can be served boiled), greens, and fruits. Keep in mind that foods high in sugar should not be used to make healthy snacks.

A very convenient holiday option is canapes with salmon. Just lay it on a slice of wheat bread (or cereal bread) and garnish with greens on top.

No less good is a sandwich with herbs and cheese. You just need to grate the cheese, finely chop the greens, mix everything and add the olive oil. Spread the resulting mixture on bread.

An excellent appetizer of any holiday table will be skewed canapes. They can again be cooked with fish: fish fillet (salmon or trout are perfect) cut into rectangular layers, put on skewers, sprinkle with lemon zest, pepper, and drizzle with olive oil.

Universal products that can be an excellent ingredient in any version of canapes (except fruit) are olives and olives.

Fruits are suitable for sandwiches on skewers. There is no limit to the imagination – combine any fruit: orange, banana, pear, and grapes, and so that the banana does not darken, it is recommended to sprinkle it with lemon juice first.

Apricot Marshmallow

You will need:

– 250 g pitted apricots;

– 100 g of egg whites;

– 150 g of sugar;

– 5 g of gelatin.

Cooking method:

Soak gelatin according to the instructions on the label.

Bake apricots in the oven, wipe, add sugar and cook until thickened with continuous stirring.

Cool proteins beat, combine with mashed potatoes.

Add dissolved gelatin, mix everything thoroughly, put in molds, and put to cool in the refrigerator.

Cream apples

You will need:

– 300 g of apples;

– 6 eggs;

– 1 cup of sugar;

– 1/2 tbsp. tablespoons of potato starch;

– 4-5 Art. spoons of seedless jam.

Cooking method:

Rinse the apples, peel them, remove the core without cutting through the apple.

Put apples in water and boil, not allowing them to boil.

Remove the apples, cool, fill the middle with jam. Place on a greased baking sheet.

Grind egg yolks well with sugar, add potato starch, introduce beaten egg whites, and mix gently.

Pour apples over this mass and put in the oven for 15 minutes.

 

Rhubarb marmalade

You will need:

– 500 g of rhubarb;

– 350 g of sugar;

– 1 tbsp. a spoonful of lemon juice;

– a slice of lemon peel;

– 10 g of pectin powder.

Cooking method:

Rinse rhubarb, peel, cut into pieces and scald with boiling water. Let dry, add chopped lemon peel, add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of water and cook until the rhubarb is completely boiled. Add pectin powder mixed with 3 tbsp. tablespoons of sugar, cook for 1-2 minutes, add the remaining sugar and cook until the marmalade is thick.

At the end of cooking, add the lemon juice mixed with 1 tbsp. a spoonful of water, bring to a boil, transfer to jars wrapped in a damp towel, cover with lids, and turn upside down to cool.

 

Curd dessert with strawberries and kiwi

You will need:

– 1 pack of cottage cheese;

– 1 glass of strawberries;

– 2 kiwi;

– 1/2 cup cream;

– honey to taste, about 1-2 tbsp. spoons.

Cooking method:

Rub the cottage cheese through a sieve, peel strawberries from all green parts. Dice, peel and finely chop the kiwi.

Stir in cottage cheese, strawberries, kiwi and honey in an enameled bowl until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Form balls and put them on a dish cooled in a refrigerator.

Beat the cream and decorate the balls with them.

Put in the freezer for 5 minutes and immediately serve.

 

Raspberry and currant charlotte

You will need:

– 1.5 cups raspberries;

– 1/2 cup of currant;

– stale loaf;

– sugar.

Cooking method:

Rinse berries sprinkle with sugar.

At the bottom of a deep form – plates or bowls – put slices of white bread without crusts, about 0.5 cm thick. Layout the sides of the form. Pour the berry filling, smooth with a spoon, cover with slices of the loaf on top, and put the load. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours.

Turn the form over, cut the charlotte, and serve with milk.

You will need:

– 1 1/4 berry puree (from strawberries, raspberries);

– 1 3/4 cup sugar;

– 1/2 teaspoon of gelatin or 2 teaspoons of starch;

– 1/3 teaspoon of citric acid;

– 2 1/4 cups of water.

Cooking method:

Soak gelatin for half an hour in 3 tbsp. tablespoons of water.

Dilute starch in 100 ml of water.

Dilute sugar in water, warm to a boil, add, continuously stirring, pre-soaked gelatin, or starch. Boil for 2-3 minutes. When gelatin or starch is completely dissolved, add berry puree, mix well, strain through cheesecloth.

Cool, add citric acid diluted in a small amount of water.

Refrigerate. When the mixture thickens, beat it, transfer to the molds and refrigerate for 1-3 hours.

Let’s move on to salty snacks:

  • Vegetable rolls with low-fat curd cheese.

This is the perfect pp appetizer for vegetable lovers. You can use zucchini or eggplant, the main thing is to fry vegetables in a grill pan without using oil. Filling – low-fat curd cheese, for example, Philadelphia, and greens. This snack contains very few calories, but it is rich in fiber and protein.

  • Pita bread with vegetables and chicken

Pita bread is a favorite product of all those who are losing weight; snacks, cakes, and many other dishes are prepared from it. Pita bread with vegetables is an excellent alternative to fatty cold salads served during feasts. Just grease the pita bread with low-fat yogurt or low-fat cream cheese, add slices of boiled chicken and your favorite vegetables.

  • Minced meat roll with egg

The ideal dietary snack for losing weight is chicken mincemeat roll. This dish contains little fat, almost no carbohydrates. This dish is a solid source of protein, so you can include it in your diet without a doubt. Just boil 3 eggs in advance, they will serve as our filling. To avoid this, use only 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil when preparing this dish.

  • Tomatoes with low-fat cheese

Tomato is one of the lowest-calorie vegetables. 100 grams of tomato contains only 20 calories, which means that this vegetable is an ideal basis for pp snacks. Just cut the tomato into circles, brush with natural yogurt or low-fat sour cream and sprinkle with cheese, such as suluguni. The low-calorie snack is ready!

  • Shell boiled shrimp

The lowest-calorie beer snack is boiled shrimp. 100 grams of shrimp contains only 95 calories per 100 grams, but the protein content reaches 19 grams! To prepare a snack for beer, take shell prawns, water, a couple of cloves of garlic, and any greens. Add salt and garlic to the water, as soon as the water boils, we send the shrimp there. Cook no more than 2-3 minutes and get it! A low-calorie beer snack is ready!

  • Boiled squid rings

Another dietary snack for beer is squid rings. But for the dish to turn out to be truly dietary, the squid should be boiled, and not fried in batter. We clean the squid carcass, rinse and cut into rings. In the boiling salted water, we lower the squid rings, and we cook them only one and a half minutes! If desired, you can add greens or bay leaf to the water.

  • Chicken wings in soy sauce

Chicken wings can rightly be considered an excellent option for snacks for beer, only we will cook them in a dietary way, and not fry them in the batter. In 50 ml of soy sauce, mix any spices to your taste, 2 cloves of garlic, and 2 grams of grated. If desired, you can add sweetener to the sauce to taste. We take the wings (about 6 pieces), cut them into two parts, and make cuts on the skin so that the sauce is better absorbed. Soak in the sauce and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes!

  • Vegetable pp beer snack

An excellent low-calorie beer snack is vegetables. Carrots, celery stalks, bell peppers are best. There is such an appetizer well with soy sauce mixed with lemon juice, any spices, and garlic. Just cut the vegetables into strips and crunch without harming the figure!

Mix 3 tablespoons of soy sauce with 1 teaspoon of dried garlic and 1 teaspoon of turmeric. Just season the dried chickpeas with sauce, mix and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes. If you want your PP beer snack to be crispy, then you can bake a little longer.
